MAC Firmware Integration Lead

Description and Responsibilities

We are actively seeking a MAC firmware integration lead for our 802.11ad MAC design team. The successful candidate should have recent experience developing 802.11/Wi-Fi firmware, including architectural design, implementation and verification.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Lead the system integration of our MAC firmware development of our 802.11ad baseband IC including simulation, FPGA emulation and ultimately final product integration.
  • Lead the test plan development, implementation, execution and closure in conjunction with our MAC firmware team.
  • Participate in the development of our MAC implementation, including MAC architecture, software specification, design and verification.
  • Interface with 3rd party contractors and IP developers in the process of our development.
  • Develop and implement firmware test and verification infrastructure including tools and flows; continue to improve efficiency and automate the verification process.
  • Participate in the lab testing and evaluation of the final product.

 

Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or related field. M.Sc. highly desired.

At least 7 years of relevant industry experience.

Strong background in deeply embedded firmware design and integration using C/C++; experience using scripting languages (e.g. TCL). Experience using SystemC desired.

Extensive knowledge and exposure to one or more wireless protocol such as 802.11, Bluetooth, LTE. Knowledge of PCIe and USB interfaces.

Strong written and oral skills are required, including an ability to clearly explain complex concepts.

Ability to take on tasks outside area of expertise.
